Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

Company 1 firefighters will be escorting Santa around the Cragmere section of town this Sunday, December 11th, starting at around 9am. Come out and meet Santa when you hear us by your home.

                       

Ramsey Car Accident

At around 2:15 this morning Fire Companies 1, 2 and Ramsey Rescue stood by on Hilltop Road for a motor vehicle accident. After around a half hour Company 1 had returned to quarters.

November 2016 Call Break-down

This month Company 1 responded to 34 calls for service. This month there was 1 set of downed wires, 2 elevator rescues, 2 EMS assists, 2 extrications, 18 fire alarms, 2 gas leaks, 1 mutual aid request for a fire, 1 mutual aid request for a rescue, 1 oven fire, 2 smells of smoke or smoke condition, and we were dispatched to 2 structure fires. As always, the volunteer members of Company 1 are ready to respond 24 hours a day 7 days week.

MVA With Entrapment

At around 2:15 this morning Rescue 1 along with Fire Companies 2, 4, EMS, and Franklin Lakes Rescue responded to Route 287 North for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. The first arriving units found an SUV had crashed into the back of a tractor trailer and 3 people inside were entrapped. After stabilizing both vehicles Rescue 1 and Franklin Lakes Rescue worked for over 1 hour to remove all 3 of the passengers. After they were removed all 3 passengers were transported by helicopters to area hospitals for treatment.

Mahwah Fire Department History: New York New Jersey Volunteer Firemen S Association

On June 27th, 1919 the Mahwah Fire Department was admitted to the New York-New Jersey Volunteer Firemen s Association. That was a direct reflection of the hard work our founders put in. In less than five years from its creation, the Mahwah Fire Department was recognized as a peer to the older more established departments in New Jersey and New York.
