2017 Hurricane Season

Posted on June 5, 2017

Hurricane season has started and will continue through the end of November. For the second year in a row, the forecast calls for an ‘above-normal’ season. The National Hurricane Center is predicting between 11 and 17 storms serious enough to be named. Of those storms, 5 to 9 will become hurricanes with 2 to 4 of them being classified as a major hurricane. The forecast will be updated in August prior to the season’s peak. As we prepare for the season we recommend that you and your family also prepare and have a plan for power outages to flooding and even evacuations.
