Juniper Way Fire

Posted on February 3, 2016

Yesterday at around 4PM Mahwah Fire responded to Juniper Way after smoke was seen coming from a third floor apartment. The first arriving units found the apartment fully involved in fire and a child on the balcony. The child sustained only minor injuries after she jumped from the balcony to escape the blaze, she was then transported to an area hospital. All five of Mahwah’s Fire Companies along with fighters from neighboring towns worked for several hours to extinguish the blaze and overhaul the area.
As always we would like to thank our members who continue to volunteer their time to help with this and other calls for service. We would also like to thank our neighboring departments who were at both the scene and also standing by for us.
Responding units included Mahwah Fire Companies 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, Mahwah EMS. Fire Companies from Allendale, Ramsey, Suffern, Tallman, Upper Saddle River, Waldwick, Wyckoff, and also additional mutual aid companies and organizations.
